Arguing Bucs take third at Arkansas Tech University

The Arguing Bucs competed well at the Arkansas Tech University tournament the weekend of February 23rd -24th in Russellville, AR.  The team took third place out of 11 schools in the debate competition and finished ahead of national rivals including the University of Arkansas-Monticello, University of North Texas and the University of Texas-Tyler.

In the junior division: Justin Li ’21 took second place. Solenne De Tassigny ’22 and Jericho Simone ’22 were semifinalists (final four).

Eli Min ’22 was the sixth best speaker, Jericho Simone was fifth and Justin Li was second.

The team took time to see the important historic sites of Central High School in Little Rock and the William Clinton Presidential Library.

The team is coached by Mike Ingram, professor of Communication Studies and Director of Forensics, and Rebecca Korf ’15 Assistant Director of Forensics. The team’s next tournament will be the National Christian College Forensics Association’s National Tournament March 13-17 at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS
